There is so much geo thermal activity around here it's incredible. When we
arrived at the free maori meeting house, this is what the parking lot
looked
like.

How incredible is that? My first thought was what if someone was
parked there when it first burst open?
When we stopped in at the maori arts place, we looked at the art, some
carvings, and watched the ceremony then wandered around checking things
out.

There was another kiwi house, a little recreated maori village, boiling
mud
and this geyser.

The maori art place in rotorua is definitely something to
check out - it's totally worth the twenty two bucks we paid to get in
and
then some.

They do tours with a guide every hour on the hour, but we didn't
wait for that, we went off on our own, but bumped into some tourists
taking
the tour. The guide was totally interesting, but the group was slow,
so we
waded our way through the people masses and I almost got left behind!

There was a little stream flowing through the park. The information
sign
talked about pollution from a mill up the way saying it had been stopped,
but I've never seen such cola colored water before, so I said, "you
have to
take a picture of coke falls!"

We took a number of pictures of the boiling mud . . . but it looks
like
boiling mud, so maybe patrick'll put em up on a website or something.

When we were at huka falls, I heard COCKADOODLEDOO and couldn't believe
my
ears. After we'd seen the sights I spied the birds by the info stand
and
said TAKE A PICTURE! there's your wildlife for ya :P roosters.

Patrick did go to ultimate on thursday, and we hung around the apartment
last weekend, although we did do a short drive to a beach north of Piha,
and
it was astounding! I felt lucky to have seen it, it was absolutely beautiful
- I actually got emotional just looking at the view. We are definitely
going
back with the camera.
My eight week trial period is over at work. I've done six portfolio
updates
for the month of october (it's updated monthly) put up one documentation
piece outside and am working on one to put in the dramatic play area.
I
guess two of the centres (mine included) are going to find a bigger
space
and join up. There's going to be a meeting about it next week. I wonder
how
long it will take?
I should get ready for work
Missing you millions!
