Chapter Thirtysix: 8 May 2005
mother's and birth days

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful beautiful hard working women I know! Happy happy mothers day!

I was pleasantly surprised today, I didn’t know until Friday that today is in fact the day to celebrate moms – so I kind of feel bad that I didn’t plan anything this week or even over the past month to have the kids make something for their mothers. I feel like crap over it.

The boys called today and Daniel told me to check my email. : ) They sent me a power point presentation of their home made beautiful tear jerking cards and some pictures of themselves. Brennen sent me a kiss and a hug. Daniel sent me a look. I was pretty super pleased and shed a couple tears. Patrick did too! : D

So, this first picture is our bathroom tap. Patrick was washing his face and I was outside getting ready to warm up the car before we headed out for work. I knew there was some strange thing on the roof – and was never quite sure what it was for – and now I know

It seems it’s a tap for watering a warm water loving plant on the roof. This thing spouts off whenever the shower is on – I know that for a fact because the gutter leaks when Patrick’s in the shower. I’ve never seen it do this until now.

This is a picture featuring my beautiful Mothers Day gift that Patrick got for me. It’s the earring. Yes, there is an earring there. It’s rectangular and I know we could probably have taken a better picture of it or them, but this is what you get. I got the necklace for my birthday for when my fingers start swelling up like sausages. They do at night while I’m sleeping, but thankfully haven’t during the work day – so I haven’t lost my engagement ring as of yet!

This is the group that joined me on my birthday dinner evening. David, Nancy, Tania (Brett was there too – just not in this photo) and Melizza. We went to Mecca on the Viaduct and it was wonderful. I had my usual chicken which is always really good. I think everyone enjoyed their food. Nancy gave me a super cool light up ring and I played with it all night. It freaked me out the other night – turned itself on and I thought aliens had landed in my laundry room when I got up to use the facilities . . .

We have lemon trees in the front yard, and their getting ripe! Patrick took one off tonight so we could make lemon rosemary roast chicken!

Here’s a close up of some lemons and a corner of our house.

I painted a frog picture. I copied it from some frog pic off the net.

This is Patrick talking to the boys on the phone today.

Patrick stubbed his toe at some point during ultimate a few weeks ago. He had told the boys about it and they’ve been asking to see a picture of it. Patrick keeps talking about sticking a hot pin into his banged up toe to let out the goo EEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWW!!!!! I’m not going to do it! Blech

This is us at my birthday dinner.

So, Patrick’s in between classes for the next week. Who knows what he’s really doing at work – he’s telling me curriculum planning. Alfredo says they’re playing some video game. I’m inclined to believe Alfredo because Patrick blushes when he talks about it.

Love you lots, Happy Mothers Day! Thank you for all of the Belated birthday wishes!
