Chapter Nine: 19 October, 2004

This weekend I went on a tour of four (including my own) different Bear Park sites. Three of the four are in old houses. The newest addition was a building built specifically for a different child care centre. The second house we saw was a dream - it had old stained wood panelled walls, arched doorways, super mega high ceilings, beautiful light fixtures and stained glass windows. It was unbelievable. I'm kicking myself for not bringing the camera. In every corner of every room was a spider web - some made out of wood, wire, glue and sparkles - the list goes on! Every site but ours has a "How Our Parents are a Part of Our Centre" board up with pictures and write ups of Parental Involvement in the Centre. Gorgeous! Every centre has at least one light table per age group! Documentations called "Daily Diaries" are posted with photos of something that happened that day! They are up for the parents to read and saved in monthly booklets that the parents / staff / anyone can read and are

Patrick's home now and probably demanding my attention.

yeah, he's pretty demanding.

We drove out to Devonport where Patrick wants to move to. It's a bit like Deep Cove - very very lovely - but with the damned confusing one way road maze from hell of downtown Vancouver. On Sunday we went out to Te Atatu where a couple of Patrick's co workers live. It's condo-y like Coquitlam - and flat. The condos are really new and the couple love it out there. Patrick's going to be talked into moving out that way. I'm happy enough where we are.

This weekend we might go to Lake Taupo - best trout fishing in the world - for an Ultimate weekend. They are suggesting we stay at a backpacker's inn. :P fat chance. I've never been in one, but Patrick says I don't ever want to be in one. I never thought I'd move away from my children either. Anyway, it's Labour Day weekend coming up, so we should go somewhere. If we don't go to Lake Taupo, we could go to Wellington or maybe even Australia - though I guess it's a little late to go making those kinds of major flying plans for this weekend.

About the pictures - these trees bloom only red (a very beautiful red) blossoms. They're just starting - I can't wait to see what they'll look like soon!

I really needed to use the facilities when Patrick took that picture, and I really could see where they were from there. We had to backtrack to get to them.

This water fall is right beside where we saw that manta ray through the glass bottomed boat with the lesbians.

Super Hot Pat needs no explanation

( but I said, no stand there. No one EVER gets to see the view behind the view!)

Super Hot Shirt!!!!! We got these shirts at Illicit - a very cool made in New Zealand clothing and accessories shop. Only super hot people can shop there.

Aren't these the coolest looking trees? they are everywhere.

Goat island is just off of Leigh. Blue penguins nest there. I'm bummed that I didn't get to see a blue penguin.

We didnt' get to talk to the boys this sunday. We really miss you Daniel and Brennen! I hope you're all psyched up and ready to go for Halloween this year! What are you going to be?

Missing you millions!

Hugz and kisses!

Mom / April
